How to Make Your Own Flavoured Butter

A little spice can turn everyday butter into something special. Here is how to make your own flavoured butter. And who knows, maybe after reading this article, your butter will never be the same!

For centuries, spices have been used to enhance the flavour of our dishes. But did you know that you can also use them to give your butter a unique flavour? Flavouring your own butter has many advantages. Not only does this allow you to customise your butter to your tastes, but it can also save you money and ensure you know exactly what's in your butter.

Imagine spreading truffle-flavoured butter on a slice of toast or using lemon-thyme butter to sauté vegetables. The possibilities are endless! And the best part? It's super easy to do!

Here’s how to flavour your butter:

Choose your favourite spice or herb. Whether you're a fan of basil, garlic, chili or even chocolate, anything is possible!

Melt the butter. Use a saucepan over low heat to melt the butter.

Add your spices or herbs. Once the butter is melted, add your spices or herbs and mix well.

Let it infuse. Let the butter cool for a few hours for the flavours to infuse.

Store in the refrigerator. Once your butter is flavoured to your liking, store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

So, what are you waiting for? Pull out those spices lying around in your cupboard and start experimenting! And remember, as the saying goes: “Life is too short to eat plain butter!”
