Fall in Love
Goodbye summer, heat, sun and relaxation... Hello autumn, cold, rain and grey skies!
Yes, but autumn isn’t just that, it’s also full of pretty things, gourmet pleasures and a time to take care of yourself.
I love this season for its colours, its cocooning evenings and its spicy flavours!
Not convinced? So let me give you something to think about with the story of Pumpkin Spice!
This spice blend is composed of Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Clove. The first written record of this flavour takes us back to 1671. This famous combination was called “pumpkin spice” in the 1980s by the New York Times.
It is found as a key ingredient in the famous “pumpkin pie” or a “pumpkin spice latte”.
But the delicious smell of this mixture is not the only reason why I was interested in it, in fact these spices have surprising properties for the skin!
Cinnamon reduces enlarged pores and cleanses the skin, nutmeg exfoliates, ginger stimulates blood circulation and cloves are antibacterial and healing. I then wanted to concoct an autumnal “Sugar Pumpkin” scrub based on this preparation. I found a very simple recipe to make in 5 minutes!
SUGAR PUMPKIN
In a bowl I mixed:
120 g of white sugar
20 g of coconut oil
40 g of ground cinnamon
7 g of ground nutmeg
7 g of ground ginger
10 g of ground clove
Finally, I transferred my tamboille into an airtight jar to protect it from humidity.
So convinced?!
