Article: Apple Pie with Pumpkin Spice

    Apple Pie with Pumpkin Spice

Who among you can resist the intoxicating aroma of a freshly baked Apple Pie? I bet it's impossible!

Did you know that in the USA, Apple Pie is eaten all year round and that everyone can personalise it according to their tastes? The trick often lies in the choice of spices.

Today, I'm revealing my secret recipe for old-fashioned Apple Pie, with a special touch: Pumpkin Spice mix. A delight!

If your pie mysteriously disappears from the fridge, don't look for the culprit... it's probably the Pumpkin Spice mixture that bewitched it!

    For the ingredients you need:

    2 shortcrust pastry

    25g flour

    1 egg yolk

    1 kg Granny Smith apples

    2 tbsp lemon juice

    50g caster sugar

    1 tsp Pumpkin Spice mix

    1 pinch of salt

    15g butter

A few pinches of brown sugar

The process is simple, you just need to insert the shortcrust pastry into your mold.

Preheat your oven to 180°, meanwhile, let the dough rest in the fridge for half an hour.

Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices.

In a salad bowl, mix the apples, flour, powdered sugar, Pumpkin Spice mixture, lemon and a pinch of salt.

Pour this mixture onto your pie that comes out of the fridge.

Cut the butter and place it on top of your mixture.

Cover your dish with the second dough and seal the edges with a fork.

Brush with egg and brown sugar (a pinch too much will burn the dough)

Put in the oven at 180° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Eat the tart a little warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
